Diverse children’s literature provides an avenue for understanding the world in which we live and helps children understand that everyone has a story to tell and that those stories are to be valued and appreciated. Focusing specifically on Latinx children’s literature, this session will engage attendees in selecting quality Latinx children’s literature, identifying bias and stereotypes, and analyzing texts for cultural authenticity. Resources will be shared.
